FBI Issue Joint Document on PL 106-40 Compliance *********** STORY ABSTRACTS ************ RMP Regulatory Update EPA And FBI Issue Joint Document On S880 Compliance On August 5, 1999 a law (PL 106-40) modifying the EPA’s Risk Management Plan requirements went into effect. The EPA and FBI have joined together to issue guidance specific to the requirements for a public disclosure and the certification requirements that the meetings or notices are done. Hot Topics EPA Describes RMP Submission Data At several recent conferences, EPA staffers have indicated that only about one half of the expected Risk Management Plans have been submitted. We summarize some of the thoughts the EPA has on this. Additionally, we have Craig Matthiessen’s recent technical paper that gives additional, site non-specific information on the offsite consequence submissions.
