State and Local Government

Note about state delegation: Currently only 23 states have state OSHA programs, and approximately 20 are either seeking delegation for running their RMP program or have had such a request approved. For all other states, US OSHA and US EPA are responsible for industrial safety and accidental release prevention respectively. When the list describes states without OSHA programs, it means that US OSHA has not approved their OSH plan; many states still maintain OSH consultation and other services even if they do not have an approved OSH plan.

EPA has compiled a list of such committees for all 50 states
